Promotion Authority: Unit Commander, Time in Service: 6 months, Waivable to: 4 months, Must be a troop program unit member, in promotable status, current physical examination, within height/weight requirements or body fat standard of AR 600-9, and passed the Army Physical Fitness Test.

Promotion Authority: Unit Commander, Time in Service: 12 months, Waivable to: 6 months, Time in Grade: 4 months, Waivable to: 2 months, Must be a troop program unit member, in promotable status, current physical examination, within height/weight requirements or body fat standard of AR 600-9, and passed the Army Physical Fitness Test.

Promotion Authority: Unit Commander, Time in Service: 24 months, Waivable to: 12 months, Time in Grade: 6 months, Waivable to: 3 months, Must be a troop program unit member, in promotable status, Assigned to equal or higher position vacancy, an eighth grade graduate, GED equivalent, or higher, fully qualified in MOS for which being promoted, Security clearance for MOs, current physical examination, within height/weight requirements or body fat standard of AR 600-9, and passed the Army Physical Fitness Test.

Promotion Authority: Promotion Board, Time in Service: 36 months, Waivable to: 18 months, Time in Grade: 12 months, Waivable to: 6 months, Must be a troop program unit member, in promotable status, a high school graduate or GED equivalent, fully qualified in MOs for which being promoted, One pay grade below that of vacant position, Security clearance for MOs, Qualified with minimum marksman rating in weapons qualification, Successful completion of PLDC, Position vacancy requirement, Met physical profile for MOs and medical fitness, Pass Army Physical Fitness Test, Pass Skill Qualification Test (SQT), Met height/weight requirements or body fat standard of AR 600-9.

Staff Sergeant

Promotion Authority: Promotion Board, Time in Service: 84 months, Waivable to: 48 months, Time in Grade: 15 months, Waivable to: 8 months, Must be a troop program unit member, in promotable status, a high school graduate or GED equivalent, fully qualified in MOs for which being promoted, One pay grade below that of vacant position, Security clearance for MOs, Qualified with minimum marksman rating in weapons qualification, Successful completion of BNCOC, Position vacancy requirement, Met physical profile for MOs and medical fitness, Pass Army Physical Fitness Test, Pass Skill Qualification Test (SQT), Met height/weight requirements or body fat standard of AR 600-9.
